Place of Origin: Milan, Italy
Provenance: A key collection by the late Alexander Mcqueen, the designer's SS2004 collection was staged in the Salle Wagram, a 19th century Parisian dance hall, and featured a choreographed reenactment of Sydney Pollack's film, They Shoot Horses, Don't They? The collection featured tailored pieces softened with intricate lingerie inserts, nude tulle, flourescent chiffons and form-fitting denims. When caught in motion, the dress flows and life is breathed into the piece.
Notes: This dress is a rare variation from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2004 collection. A similar silhouette appeared on the runway in pale pink with a caplet sleeve, underscoring the season’s exploration of dramatic, sculptural forms.
