A richly textural interpretation of the classic Chanel tweed jacket, this piece combines a graphic ivory and deep navy chevron weave with rust, copper and metallic threads. The traditional tailored silhouette is given a more tactile, deliberately unfinished character through extensively fringed edges, while subtle metallic fibres animate the surface as the jacket moves under changing light.

The jacket is cut relatively close through the shoulders and upper body, with a fitted waist and abbreviated length creating a neat, feminine silhouette. Long, slim sleeves extend to extensively fringed cuffs, while the cropped body sits around the upper hip. Please refer to the measurements above for the most accurate indication of fit.

Design Features & Construction: Constructed in France from an exceptionally dimensional fantasy tweed, the jacket is woven predominantly in ivory and deep navy yarns arranged into a graphic chevron or herringbone formation. Rust and warm copper-coloured threads punctuate the weave, while fine metallic and iridescent fibres introduce flashes of silver and colour across the surface.
The complexity of the textile becomes particularly apparent at close range. Different yarn weights, slubbed fibres and reflective threads are densely interwoven, allowing the jacket to read as a relatively restrained navy-and-ivory pattern from a distance before revealing its multicoloured construction on closer inspection. The metallic fibres are integrated throughout rather than applied as surface embellishment, giving the tweed a subtle luminosity that changes according to the light.
The fitted body is shaped into a cropped tailored silhouette with softly structured lapels and front patch pockets. The pockets are carefully integrated into the patterned textile, preserving the continuity of the chevron weave while adding the practical detailing associated with traditional Chanel tailoring.
Raw fringed finishing runs along the lower edge of the jacket and continues at the cuffs, exposing individual ivory, navy, rust and metallic yarns from the underlying weave. This deliberately unfinished treatment creates a tactile contrast with the otherwise precise construction and gives the jacket a softer, more relaxed edge.
The long fitted sleeves are particularly detailed, terminating in fringed cuffs finished with a vertical series of four miniature dark CC-logo buttons at each wrist. Their tonal finish allows them to sit discreetly within the patterned textile, revealing the Chanel signature only on closer inspection.
The interior is fully lined in a stretch silk blend, providing a smooth counterpoint to the heavily textured exterior and allowing the fitted construction to sit comfortably against the body.
Styling & Versatility: Despite the complexity of its textile, the predominantly ivory and navy palette makes this an unusually versatile Chanel tweed jacket. It can be worn as a complete statement over a narrow black or navy trouser, styled with denim for a more relaxed contrast, or paired with a high-waisted skirt to emphasise the cropped proportions. Under evening light, the metallic and iridescent fibres become considerably more apparent, allowing the jacket to move easily between daytime tailoring and evening dressing.
Collectability: A distinctive example of late Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel tailoring, combining several of the House's most recognisable codes — fantasy tweed, precise fitted construction, silk lining, fringed finishing and discreet CC hardware — within an unusually complex textile. The combination of graphic chevron patterning, metallic yarns and deliberately exposed fringe demonstrates the continual experimentation with texture that characterised Lagerfeld's reinterpretation of Chanel's traditional tweed vocabulary. Identified by its original production reference P62391V47803, the jacket represents a particularly strong example of Chanel's highly developed textile craftsmanship from this period.
Closure: Front fastening.
Condition: Very good pre-owned condition. The fantasy tweed retains excellent depth, texture and colour, with the metallic and multicoloured threads remaining clearly visible throughout. The extensive fringe at the cuffs and lower edge is an intentional element of the original design. CC-logo cuff buttons remain present, and the original Chanel brand, production and composition labels are intact.
