The jacket is cut close through the shoulders and upper body, with a distinctly cropped central bodice sitting above the natural hip. Extended asymmetric side panels descend from the waist into exaggerated points, creating a dramatic handkerchief-like line around the hips. Long fitted sleeves balance the sculptural lower portion of the jacket. Please refer to the measurements above for the most accurate indication of fit.

Design Features & Construction: Constructed in France from a richly dimensional black fantasy tweed, the jacket is woven with fine metallic threads forming an irregular silver windowpane check across the surface. Subtle variations in yarn weight and texture give the predominantly black textile considerable depth, while the metallic fibres catch the light without overwhelming the monochromatic palette.
The most distinctive feature is its unconventional architectural construction. Rather than following the straight hemline associated with the classic Chanel jacket, the fitted upper body gives way to dramatically extended pointed panels at either side of the waist. These descend over the hips and terminate in long, intentionally unfinished fringe, creating movement and an almost handkerchief-like effect.
The cropped front is constructed with an overlapping double-breasted arrangement of tonal black buttons, maintaining a deliberately restrained contrast against the elaborate textile. The angular orientation of the tweed across the front further disrupts the regular windowpane pattern, emphasising the jacket's geometric construction.
Long fitted sleeves continue the windowpane weave and terminate in extensively fringed cuffs. A vertical series of small tonal black buttons at each cuff introduces another classic tailoring reference while allowing the deliberately raw textile finish to remain the focal point.
The interior is fully lined in a stretch silk blend, providing a smooth counterpoint to the highly textured exterior and allowing the closely fitted, sculptural construction to sit comfortably against the body.
Styling & Versatility: The dramatic proportions make this an exceptionally strong standalone piece. Worn with a narrow black trouser or skirt, the elongated side panels become the principal feature of the silhouette, while styling over denim gives the highly constructed tweed a more relaxed contrast. The cropped central front also works particularly well over a high-waisted lower silhouette, allowing the asymmetric hem to remain fully visible.
Collectability: A particularly distinctive example of Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel tailoring from the Cruise 2008 Collection. The piece moves considerably beyond the conventional four-pocket Chanel jacket, combining traditional fantasy tweed with metallic yarns, asymmetric pattern placement, an abbreviated double-breasted bodice and dramatically elongated fringed panels. The exact jacket reference, P32193V22147, was also produced alongside a coordinating skirt from the collection, reflecting Chanel's longstanding tradition of complete tweed ensembles. Its unconventional silhouette and highly recognisable textile treatment make it a particularly strong example of Lagerfeld's continual reinterpretation of the House's tailoring codes.

Condition: Very good pre-owned condition. The black fantasy tweed retains excellent depth and texture, with the metallic windowpane threads remaining clearly defined throughout. The extensive fringe at the cuffs and asymmetric hem is an intentional element of the original design. Tonal buttons remain present, and the original Chanel brand, production and composition labels are intact.
