"The focus, however remained on an interaction between artist and child. Ultimatley these photographs were three-way collaborations, based on play. If play is a way for children to learn, perhaps art offers adults a chance to play too. In these portraits, not only did the children get a different glimpse of themselves but also artists came away reminded of play. In this way, I ended up creating a social and artistic archive, something now that spans twelve years and the work of over eighty artists..."
